The Social Service Club of CITM – ‘NISHQAM’ once again made its presence felt in the social and technical circles in the college. This time the club organized “EXTRAVAGANZA” to collect funds for educating the underprivileged kids of laborer’s working in CITM- a project called ‘SWAPAN’. Extravaganza 2009 was held from 23rd – 27th April and drew appreciation from many students of our college. All the coordinators worked really hard to make Extravaganza a grand success.

Extravaganza commenced with the event of Vartalipi (GD) in which strong arguments and wonderful communication skills kept the teachers and students spellbound. On the other hand events like Biocellence and Code Red made students really engrossed enjoying the crosswords and programming. The event of Ratchet n Clank (Clay Modelling) sent the participants in ecstasy designing the cars with a great innovation. The next was events like Pictionary and LAN Gaming which enthralled the participants to a great extent. All the students participated with bubbling enthusiasm. The events MMS Quiz and Corporata also gripped the minds of all intelligent students of our college and had a fierce competition. In the end to acknowledge all the Winners and Runners up, they were provided with the commendation certificates and glittering trophies.

Thus, we the coordinators laud the efforts of all the participants for contributing to the humanitarian cause. In all we can proudly say that Extravaganza was a sterling achievement.

Extravaganza '08

the annual fundraiser by 'NISHQAM'

During the month of March 2008 , ‘Nishkam ‘,then working as “ NSS-CITM” ,had organized a technical fest ‘Extravaganza’ .The purpose of the fest was to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children .

Various events like IT Technology Quiz, IT Crossword , Sudoku Championship, GK Quiz , Group Discussions etc were held .A small participation fee of Rs 20 per person per event was charged which contributed to the purpose of fund raising . In all around Rs18000 were generated. The events were a big hit in college, the only drawback being that it was held on Saturday when the attendance is generally low. Nevertheless, there was big participation for events like LAN Gaming , Treasure Hunt , Sudoku etc .

The fest was an experience in itself not only for organizing fundraising but also for bonding between the members of the club. Many new faces joined the club around this time and showcased their talent to organize events .The fest significantly added to the volunteer strength of the club. The fest also contributed to the personality development of participants as well as volunteers.

The winners of the fest were presented with certificates and trophies in a special prize distribution ceremony held in college .The winner of Treasure Hunt was awarded with two movie tickets as well.

The funds generated out of this fest were used for donating different material to different NGO’s like Parichay in East Delhi , ERC in Faridabad , and TARA at Jamia .While Parichay was donated with a large number of books for helping it make a library , ERC Faridabad which works for mentally deformed children was presented with various types of stationery , magnetic slates and medicines .TARA , an educational initiative at Jamia college by students themselves , was presented with school bags , stationery material and jute .

Extravaganza was special event, which not only popularized the club within college, but also managed to meet all its objectives of fundraising.
